Welcome to the website of the Donetsk NGO Agency for Local government development

Donetsk Agency for Local government development (Agency) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization (NGO) initiated and created by citizens.

Agency is guided by the Constitution, the Law of Ukraine «On Associations of Citizens» other legislative acts and its own Charter.

The Agency was founded in 2001 by a group of people interested in the formation and development of local self-government in Ukraine, having knowledge and experience in this area and willing to help employees of local governments, the population of Donetsk region in the development of local democracy and civil society in the region.

The Donetsk Agency for Local government development aims to establish democratic society and to assist in the consolidation of a free-market democracy in Ukraine through increasing citizen participation in the local self-government affairs.

Main activity:

- developing democracy at a local level: accountability and transparency of the local government;

- active participation in the areas of local government and local economic development;

- producing and publishing special literature on strengthening democracy, economic development and so on.
